I get this code alternating with a FUSE 2 code.  What is the "PRO"
for?

Thinking outside the box - hahaha - the "PRO" displayed on the
7-segment LEDs is actually "PAD", and it's no mystery what that means.

Not quite - if it were embossed on the side of the caliper it might be
more like the 710 cap, but displayed on the VCM output in those weird
square letters - I dunno!

I am told there is a method for re"PRO"gramming some of the ECS
computer parameters, so I was thinking maybe it was a mode I was in.
I am an old computer programmer, so it was not too long a reach to
jump to this contusion.
