Hi i just bought a 1987 Jaguar xj6-and guess what? It needs a head gasket replacement-there is oil in my coolant overflow. Is this real expensive and can a non-jaguar mechanic do it without having to be British trained? Another question-the XK engine-how many hundreds of thousand miles are these engines good for before they need to be rebuilt? But if you are allergic to wrenches ask a mechanic that you know and trust. A dealer will charge you more than the whole car is worth.
