Come on then, I've read the press articles, watched to TV, is the X-Type any
good, does it have problems, or is it an excellent car for the money ?

Experiences from people who actually have one would be of great benefit.

Any problems so far.

Cheers

It depends on the year. We had a 2002 ( 2001 build date) that was bad. Many
problems including a new transmission. Jaguar said they did not want unhappy
customers and arranged to trade up to a new 2004 for $4300. A completely
different car. Much tighter and better fit and finish. My wife loves it
especially the AWD in the snow. No problems to date. Do not buy an early
build model.

Our early US-spec '02 3.0 Sport 5-speed AWD has 42,000 miles and has been faultless.
