It is bad enough that this happened to a Victorian drive, worse, is the
bottom line of the story.

Motorist bashed, stabbed

08mar04

A MOTORIST was punched, kicked, stabbed with a spanner and robbed by a
man who waved him down in Melbourne's south-west, police said.

Police said the motorist was driving along Rosella Drive, Werribee at 4am
on Saturday when he saw a man in the middle of the road waving his arms.
The driver stopped to help the man but, after a short conversation, he
was punched in the face through the car's open window.

The man then hit the driver with a spanner.

When the driver got out of his car, he was continuously punched and
kicked.

The attacker then stabbed his victim in the face and back with the
spanner, causing him to fall to the ground.

The attacker then took cash from the victim's pockets before fleeing.

The 22-year-old driver, from Werribee, went to the Werribee Mercy
Hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruises.

His attacker is described as 25 to 30-years-old, thin build and 165cm to
170cm tall.

He was wearing a white T-shirt with lines on the front and white three-
quarter length trousers.

Police said several motorists drove by the man and his victim at the time
of the attack.
