My 93 xj6 blower will not work.  I have power at the Blower fuse motor but
no power at the back of the main fuse box.  I have followed the blower motor
wire from the blower motor to the main fuse box.  The blower works if I
supply supplemental power but quickly shorts my power source.  Can I bypass
the climate control and make it a manual system?  If anybody has an idea I
would appreciate it.

Yikes!

Wha??? Blower fuse motor? You mean power to the "fuse", but nothing
out the back of the fuse block? Are you sure the fuse is good? ;-) The
wires are lightly soldered on the connectors, check to see if the
solder joint is broken or if the wire is burned.

Yes you have followed the power lead (+), however, you must also
follow the ground back to the resistor board which is easily repaired
if found to be faulty. But there is more than one fan......

Not a good sign.

> Can I bypass the climate control and make it a manual system?

Personally I would not do this.

>If anybody has an idea I would appreciate it.

First check your ground!

So you've revealed the wires to the the blower already so the next
step would be simple.  Go and purchase some wires, an in-line fuse
holder, and power the motor directly from the battery. You MUST use a
fuse unless you are willing to "Roast nuts over an open fire". The
fuse must be of the same capacity as was specified.... if it blows
that fuse after a few minutes then you need a new motor. If the fuse
does not blow then you need to inspect the resistor board, and if that
is correct then you need to look at the controller then.

Typical wiring (Did I say typical in a Jag! LOL)-

Brown connector..brown wire is the 12V source, black wire is the
ground.
(Note: Brown wire will always have power (Key on or off).

IMHO- I think your blower needs replacement.

Blake
