has anyone got real life fuel consumption figures from the 2 litre diesel in
the xtype

had one for a test drive over the weekend; unfortunately it didnt have a
trip computer so  I couldnt see any consumption figures, but suspect it was
much closer to 30mpg rather then the ludicrous
combined figure of 50 something

I took one from Hamburg to D?sseldorf 300 KM and averaged 6.5 l for 100 KM
(about 43 MPG) and I was travelling at 160-180 KMH (100-115 MPH)

Does that help you??

many thanks - indeed it does; i was hoping to find a more refined engine
that what is in my saab 9-3 which has just started to return c44mpg figures
after 50000 miles ( however it only achieved 28.8mpg over 650km on a french
autoroute last month at the same speed as you report (cruise set on 110mph)

the test x type seemed to show consumtion of a quarter of tank of fuel for
the 15 miles when i took it from home back to the dealer !!

i'll just have to buy one to see what it does long term :)
