My Jeep is leaking transmission fluid from the inspection cover. I
have not been able to get the inspection cover off, I have tried a
1/2" and it rolls, 7/16 to small 12mm to small 13 mm to big.  But my
real question is if there is fluid leaking from there what could it be
from and how major of a repair should it be?  If I take it into a shop
what should I expect to pay?  Any help would be appriecated.  If you
email me please remove the NOSPAM part.

If it's a standard, then the front bearing retainer seal is likely leaky.

If it's an automatic, you could be full of water so it is leaking out
the vent in the bell housing. or again the front seal or the torque
converter seal is bad.

I guess the standard could also be full of water so there is too much
pressure on the seal.  If the fluid is milky, suspect water.

To change a front seal, the tranny has to come out.

It's an automatic and definatly transmission fluid, no sign of water.
If I can get the inspector cover off, what should I look for?  Thanks
for your help.

The inspection cover will show you the ring gear and fluid.  Not much
else under there to see.
