I advertised my exArmy CJ5 on Jeep-Classifieds.com and it is FREE until you
get offers. They you pay and talk to buyers - not. My buyer contacts were
phony and I suspect sent internally just to get me to pay up. Anyone any
experience of this? Advice on where to sell my CJ5. It's the one known to
some of the Inland Empire Jeep Freaks here.

There is someone here looking for a CJ as a 'toad' vehicle.  Maybe check
out his post.

This newsgroup always welcomes private Jeep sales, put it up here with
links to photos because it is a text group.

There sure are some sleaze bag companies out there aren't there?

That's clearly described in the FAQ

Try Craig's List, it's free.

http://www.craigslist.org/about/cities.html

I've had VERY good luck with Auto Trader which isn't free:

http://www.traderonline.com

But the best results might be to just bite the bullet, spend the
outrageous bucks they want and advertise in your local paper.
