Yeah, It's hooked up correctly. It would start, rev once, then
stall. Yes, I'm sure I have the SKIM key, as last year we lost it for
a few days and were going to have to fork out $300 to the dealer to
have it replaced.
I put the old PCM back in, and I'll take the new one to the dealer
tomorrow to see if I can get it reprogrammed wihtout being raped by
them. On second thought, I might go to the Jeep dealer in the rough
part of town. The one closest to me is in a ritzy area and they seem
to specialize in the old rip off.
I really hate the fact that I can't do this myself.
Thanks for the replys.

The dealer in my area wanted $50 for the key blank and another $50 for the
programming.
I think what is happening is that the 'new' computer thinks the vehicle is
being stolen because the transponder chip is not throwing off the 'right'
code, that is, the code held in the computer's memory.
When this happens the engine will start and run..... but only for a couple
seconds and then you should be having the SKIM (looks like a key) warning
light on the dashboard activated.

you can now rent a drb3 scantool from d.c for 150.00 for 3 days and it can
come with the software needed to reprogam the pcm if needed but yopu can also
use it to reprogam the pcm with the correct skim pin number as long as u can
get it or have it

That's nice to know. Could be well worth it, to program the stock chip to an
aftermarket race specs.

and it would still be cheaper than a dealership visit
