Could everyone please start obeying DST?  you're screwing up my
newsreader - now none of the posts make any sense because they're
nowhere close to the correct order.

Order, dammit!  Order in the court!

Unless you're using one of those toy computers.

They haven't really made any effort to say, but I assume that this is all
part of the "war effort".  This site may also be of assistance.

DST is against the law in Arizona. :-) It would upset the livestock.

You would think with all of their global warming, someone would figure
out that if you keep saving up daylight, sooner or later all that
daylight is gonna escape and burn us all to cinders.

Has anyone noticed with earlier DST switch, in the northern states and on
the eastern sides of the time zones it's still dark during the morning
commute and a lot the energy we're supposed to be saving in the evening is
being used to light everything up in the morning?

Yup, going to kill more school children, like when Nixon did away with
Day Light Saving altogether. It's the shorter days that use more energy, not
what time it is. At least Arizona uses it's common sense.

DST was first enacted by a national government for WWI.  This poster shows
how it was interpreted in the U.S.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Victory-Cigar-Congress-Passes-DST.jpeg

At the time, many people in this country still grew their own food, and
contributed to the war effort in that way.  Now, it gives us more time to
demonstrate against truly idiotic national policies in the early evening,
and still have time for a couple hours' debate about it all at the local
Starbucks.

Saludos,

"Get Your Hoe Ready" would also have a somewhat different connotation today,
too.

I think Jerry B. was catching up on a couple of months worth of messages -
the ones he replied to had expired on my server but you could see the
original time of the post was some little while ago.

Sort by Thread not by Date.  Some posts might still not make any sense
but at least they'll be grouped together. Warmer weather in PA and extra
light in the pm = new air filter; new bulb in the hood light; and plugs
in the XJ.

Me thinks it is YOU that is messing up the program. My computer is observing
DST, and my posts are in the proper order.

Sorry everyone, it was a false alarm - Jerry Bransford's flurry of old
threads confused the hell out of me.

Windows did not adjust my computer clock for daylight savings time this
year. It must be because of the earlier change this year.

Some folks are hesitant to trust anything from Microsoft as they have a
history of sending out updates full of bugs and Spyware.

They've been pretty good with Windows 2000.  If you like, you can manually
change the daylight savings time change dates yourself, if you can find
where that information is stored.  Heh.

Windows, love it or leave it.  You don't have one of those toy computers, do
you now?

You need to check for Updates. We have 5 computers here, and they all
updated the time properly.

I am running XP, and for some reason the time didnt change for DST, but
all the updates were done. The timezone fix did the trick though, thanks.
