I'm not familiar with the Black Diamond brand, but boucy and hard
are opposite things. Might be the Black Diamond AT shocks are like
my Edelbrock IAS shocks. They are stiff on the road but loosen up
if you hit them hard. Tires and tire pressure can also change things
quite a bit.
Make sure your running the correct pressure for the road.

Yup, know that Daimler has tried to make your TJ as cushy as possible,
and that anything you do to the suspension to make it off road worthy is
going to cost big time in fuel economy, and ride. and may even be dangerous
at highway speeds.

You have coils springs, YJ's have very soft leaf springs. You can add a
2" spacer lift with no change in ride quality, a 3-1/2" spring lift with
stiff springs in a YJ is a world apart.

What size tires are you running and how much air is in them?
Don't forget you are taking a soft cushy YJ or Yuppie Jeep with flat
soft springs and turning it into more of a real Jeep with real 'arched'
leaf springs.
This is going to radically alter the ride. Have you ever ridden in a
CJ7? They are little trucks and handle as such.

Do you still have a rear track bar? I removed mine recently and the
ride softened up significantly. Keep in mind that the handling could
change in other ways. I have not noiticed any difference so far
besides the ride.

Don't know I'd agree with removing the track bar, that can lead to some
real iffy situations in corners and accelerated wear on the mounts.
Track bar relocation on the other hand will bring the suspension back
into alignment. RE makes an adjustable track bar, iirc..
