L.W. (Bill) Hughes III - 13 Aug 2007 21:31 GMT This from the biggest loser of them all! The jealous, really jealous, I can't believe how jealous this little draft dodging coward schizophrenic psychopath liar hiding in Vancouver via S0106000ea6ba70e7.vn.shawcable.net 24.86.24.251 intrepidator@shaw.ca who's only way to get attention is to make a fool of its self using foul language, like it did back in elementary school yard. But, too afraid to use it's name and address, and take on responsibility like a grown up. With an obsession with perverts and goats, where it writes via remailers, @news.alt.net, and cross posts to other perverts to no one's surprise. With extreme jealous ranting over my documents, possessions, successes, manliness and fine, Southern California surfing body, beard, and loving Christian family. Committing forgery over many of my posts, proving I'm a responsible American man. You remind me of a little rat dog, like a Mexican Chiwawa with its senseless barking, me too, me too. You're even more senile than I first thought. And the poor thing, you're too girlie to take responsibility for yourself again, by signing your statement like a man. That really thinks the group's members are so stupid not to know it's the same coward, posting over and over again using a schizophrenic psychopath forged up names? You're not worth any more time when a cut and paste this same paragraphs it fits so well! But, now worth a forwarding to: internet.help@shaw.ca, security@shaw.ca, abuse@shaw.ca, internet.abuse@sjrb.ca, abuse@aioe.org, admin@cox.net for forgery. Who said it also likes baby monkeys sucking their penis, like his buddy posted on an auto picture group at: news:0u7g43dkje4pdkqi07hl66s8kpifo564k1@4ax.com I thought this traitor's attacks were just over personal disagreements, but in reality these attacks stemming from my love of God and America on Independents Week, I realized you are actually attacking my country, and that's what you've been doing all along is declaring your hatred for the United States of America, with each declaration of my signature, but just too cowardly and stupid to be a terrorist. It's America, love it, or leave it, so keep the f*ck out! Or let me know when you cross my American border, so I may arrest you! YOU ARE A TRAITOR and lost all rights to my American border, and someday I'll have you in jail where you belong! Any time, I'll fly and meant with other patriots guarding our borders against vermin like you. Forwarded to: alt.binaries.pictures.autos, alt.binaries.automobile.pictures groups so they may to see what an a**hole you, aka SW really is!!!!! There is also alt.binaries.test for similar usage.
Most binary groups function quite normally with multi-parts, but a good handful of binary groups will only grab the last part of each file. (i.e., (6/6), (12/12)
Works the same (or doesn't) with text groups as well.

If Doug Gavilanes wanted to see if his posts were getting here, why not just send a post?

> Give it a rest. No, too many people here completely disregard netiquette and my score file is filling up, I don't need more entries. Test posts are not acceptable in groups w/o test in their name and more importantly they are not necessary.

With all the sh.t this group has endured because of billy boy and his net friends, I fail to see how one simple little test post is going to make the world crumble. Now I just added one more port to the test thread. There have been one or two test posts here that I can remember in recent history, and thousands of posts from "Bill and friends". If you're going to bitch about something, bitch about the shitpile Bill has caused, not the one bunny pellet caused from a test post.

Although in some small manner I agree with you, the folks who know about alt.test and the folks who know why you might not want to post to alt.test tend to be a vanishing breed. And from a practical standpoint no longer really useful for determining if your posts were reaching a specific news group.
Plus, given the crap that is going on between our resident Ted Kaczynski wannabe and his girl friends, I could welcome something as harmless as a test post.

He could have posted "'96 TJ, doors don't fit my CJ"
Then posted in the message box, "what's wrong?"
You would be perfectly fine with such a post, despite the fact that there is no such thing as a '96 TJ.
Then all he would need do is sit around and wait for his post to percolate through the servers and pop up here. Or, he can post "Test -- Disregard" and pray to God that you disregard as he waits for it to appear on his screen.
Give it a rest, and disregard any post that specifically asks you to disregard it.
XS11E - 16 Aug 2007 21:10 GMT > You are way over thinking this. Give it a rest. No, sorry.

The problem is that the OP apparently wanted to post a question/comment/whatever and could have done so.
> Give it a rest, and disregard any post that specifically asks you > to disregard it. Absolutely not. You'll notice the OP has posted here previously, if he needs to ask a question, let him ask it. Adding "Disregard" to a test post doesn't make it acceptable any more than adding "Off Topic" to a post makes it on topic.
Sorry, Jeff, netiquette is nothing more than common courtesy and should be followed, those who don't need to have their mistakes pointed out to them, that's how you learned manners when you were a kid and that's how people learn manners on Usenet, except of course, for the untrainable. ;-)
Now let's both give it a rest, there were only two replies necessary in this thread, Stupendous Man's reply that alt.test should have been used and mine suggesting the OP just post his message.

[quoted text clipped - 3 lines] > post doesn't make it acceptable any more than adding "Off Topic" to a > post makes it on topic. Adding Off Topic does nothing to make a post on topic. Indeed, it expressely notifies other participants in the group that the topic does not follow that of the group. The group participants can then easily steer around such a post, and one can even go so far as to establish a Message Rule that deletes a message when "off topic" appears as a text string in a Subject Line.
Doug has been posting here for close to ten years that I'm aware of. You, on the other hand, are a relative newcomer. Chill.
> Sorry, Jeff, netiquette is nothing more than common courtesy and should > be followed, those who don't need to have their mistakes pointed out to > them, that's how you learned manners when you were a kid and that's how > people learn manners on Usenet, except of course, for the untrainable. > ;-) And, netiquitte says that if you have to step outside the boundaries in your subject, then you should notify others so they can steer clear. A post that goes on for days about the accuracy of "'96 TJ <anything>" is a complete waste of bandwidth. Posting that "I'm not sure if this thing is on <tap, tap, tap>" and stating that it is something that you should not bother yourself with is better. He could have posted ANYTHING in his subject line that had the effect of being a test from his perspective, and not told us it was a test.
Give it a rest and go ride your motorcycle.
Socks - 15 Aug 2007 05:36 GMT You guys with this "But there still is no reason to post a test message in violation of netiquitte and probably the FAQs of this group. "
Why do all of you take this so seriously? This is the Internet after all! For all you know, these people posting here don't even own a vehicle under the Jeep banner! So what it boils down to is... In my words... "Who gives a flying f.ck at a rolling doughnut!"
