And the reason I would trust anyone, let alone a
spammer hiding behind a domain protection service
as bad as whoisguard.com....

zero.

Folks, any domain protected by whoisguard is most
often a scammer site.  They used to use a Illinois
address but after that proved fake they moved to
California.  Likely that address is fake as well.
