AGR Rock Ram - TJ

Hi,

I purchased a AGR Rock ram system for my 1998 TJ. (4" suspension lift)  I am
currently exploring mounting options for the ram cylinder.

Has anyone in the group installed the rock ram on their TJ? If so, how did
you mount it? I am concerned with performance with the suspension in full
stuff and in full droop. I would like to mount from the axle tube to the tie
rod, but it looks like the track bar may be in the way. I would welcome your
experience, both good and bad. (a photo of your installation would be great!
especially if it worked well for you.)

Thanks,
Steve

Steve, a very good forum to ask that at would be at
http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=10 which is the
Pirate.com forum.  Lots of hardcore Jeepers hang out there and more than a
couple have experience with installing a Rock Ram.  I should look into that
myself, I'm definitely beyond the point where that would make sense for my
TJ.

Jerry

Hi Steve,
In order for it to work as designed you must convert to a Real
Jeep's leaf springs:
http://www.samsoffroad.com/samsoffroadsto/AgrRockRam.htm Otherwise just
hook it to the steering box like the other wannabees:

Bill,

Thanks for your thoughtful reply, however, both of your links are not much
help because they are leaf sprung Jeeps. As you may or may not know, a coil
spring suspension (like the one in the wannabe Jeeps) articulates much more
then a leaf spring suspension... That is why I am concerned about the track
bar.

I just received the new JP... There are a LOT of Real Jeeps (CJ's) converted
from "Real" (leafs) to "Wannabe" (Coils) and running 44" rubber. What a
bunch of Morons! They obviously don't know as much as you do!

Once again... Thanks for you help...

Steve

The jury is out on whether Bill understands any of the advantages of the
newer Jeeps, but it doesn't really matter since he wouldn't admit it if
he did.

Are you the same Steven Eldredge from the Bearhawk list?

One of the links I provided was for your cushy TJ:
http://www.burnsvilleoffroad.com/01_06.html just put the ram on the
pitman arm like the rest of the wannabees.
