SLC is full of Jeeps. Depends on what he is after. I think that the prices
on older CJ's are over prices as compared to the rest of the country. I
think that newer wranglers will be priced similar to other places. There
are several Jeep only dealerships if that is what your friend is after.
Mepco (www.mepco4x4.com) specializes in Jeeps, and can provide any part,
aftermarket piece, labor you are looking for. There are others such as
RockLogic (www.rocklogic4x4.com), and many others, that I prefer to use for
custom fab work. Give me more specifics on what you are after and I can
point you and your friend in the right direction.

Keith,
Thanks for the reply. He's wanting to buy something used. Probably a
TJ as he needs something reliable. I just thought there might be some
Jeep specialty shops up there in Salt Lake like we have in Texas.
Just looking for some recommendations for him.

Spartan Jeep/Eagle on 4355 S State is one place and John Mecham 2280 S Main
are 2 jeep dealerships. I have seen a few times where customers at John
Mecham were not treated honest, so I would shy you away from them out of
principle. Also there is a local bulletin board called
www.rockymountainextreme.com that is 90% local guys who have some good
technical answer, and there are often some good built TJ's that go through
there. They are also good with advice on where to have local work done,
plus they get together often for local trail rides.
