socket size for an upper ball joint nut? 85 cj7

hey everybody-going to replace the ball joint on my dana 30 front
axle.  does anyone know what the socket size is for the upper ball
joint castle nut? the biggest open wrench (for sizing only) is 1-1/4
and it's a little too small.  thanks!
