Hi all Jeep Lovers,

Some time ago, I asked for your advice about the sudden stop of the engine
of a '95 cherokee.

I had some usefull replies from you. I thank you for that.

I didn't had it repaired yet, because the dealer couldn't find anything
wrong.
(nothing showed up on their computer)

Now I had the engine stop twice and couldn't start it for a minute or 10.
After a minute or 10 I could start again.

The answers you gave were about the engine coil, crank position sensor and
the TDC sensor.

Now I want to have my Jeep repaired.
Can anyone tell me, with this new 'stop' information, the most likely part
to have replaced?

Our 88 was doing this so I replaced the CPS thinking that is the 'usual'
culprit. I got another 20 feet and it died again.

In my case it was a rotted mesh ground strap from the rear of the head
up to the firewall and was a real easy fix.

That CPS is a pain to do. It takes a bunch of long extensions with a
u-joint at the socket and a friend to hold it in place while you come at
it from underneath.

My 88YJ used to do the same thing.
Turned out to be the ignition module.
It'd crap out when it got hot.
Then work after it cooled down.
And it was a bugger to find too, Hiding
under the windshield washer bottle like that.
Not sure if a 95 has the same type of ignition module
