The shift stick on my YJ (AX-15 transmission) is very loose, and wobbles
around a lot.

I have removed the boot, and the stick, but am not sure what part I need
to replace to get it back to normal.  I though there would be a nylon
bushing the was worn, but I don;t see one in there.

You might actually have a bad motor mount(s) or bad tranny mount.  Check
those first.

Found the problem.  Most of the bushing is missing.  Now just need to
find a source for the part here.  Both local DC dealers don't have on in
stock (5 days to get) and the local auto parts sores can't get them.

Thank for the help.

Sweet, glad you solved it.  I jumped straight to mounts (from experience)
but it's good to learn of another cause that's confirmed.

Usually the Japanese transmission's lever just falls out, with this
symptom, leaving nothing to the imagination.
