'91' XJ: Rear differential/axle noise

I'm occasionally getting some strange chattering noise when I make turns to
the left or right from the rear of my Jeep. I'm pretty sure it's coming from
the differential. I'm going to try and add a bottle of the trak-loc additive
but the differential was rebuilt about a year ago so I'm wondering what the
hell is going on. Do the trak loc clutch plates wear out that fast?

That's why they sell the friction modifier:

four ounces of it on change:

do not make noise, they're just screaming for the additive.

Clutch plates do wear out but probably not that fast. The rebuild shop
may have not used a gear lube with the required friction modifier
additive. I'd add one small bottle, usually around 4 oz., of friction
modifier and see if it helps. Or if you are going to also change the
lube, just make sure the fresh gear lube says "compatible with limited
slip differentials" which means it has the required friction modifier
already added.
