i have a kia with over a 100k i just replaced the alt and a new battery but
i was driving home and the head lights dimmed and went out i made it home
and tried to start the car but it would't the next morning the car started
with no problems.  The alternator and battery are fine.  What else could be
the problem?

This an amateur answer , the light dimming sounds like the alternator
wasn't charging the battery at the time.  Batteries if left for awhile don't
really recharge but they will output enough power to start a car again and
the alternator will charge it  . I would guess you have a bad ground or
connection .   Why did you replace the battery and alternator in the first
place ?
