When it's raining, or on a day when it has rained and the air is still
damp, a very loud squeaking sound comes from the engine compartment
(when the engine is running, of course.) The van does not need to be
moving for this to occur. It sounds like a fan belt squeak, but much
louder than any I've ever heard.
Took it to the dealer last Saturday and they replaced a fan belt.
Charged us $65.00 since that part isn't under warranty.
Today it's raining again (in Cleveland, Ohio) and the noise is back,
same as before.
Does anyone have any ideas what's causing this? I anticipate repeated
visits to this dealer (45 minutes away) before they fix it, and the
more I know about a possible cause, the better.
The van has 12,000 miles on it.
Thanks,
Dave
P.S. Other than this, we've been very happy with the Sedona.

Thanks, Bill. As it turned out, they replaced the fan belt wheel
under warranty and that solved it.

Bill in Anchorage..Hows the support for KIA's in the land of the last
frontier? Originally im from Anchorage but joined the Navy. I just
bought an 04 KIA Optima and will be going up there next year and
retiring, driving from Chicago. The KIA of Waukegan is outstanding on
everything from oil changes to the car wash. Im just hoping that i can
get the same service there.
