Drop a SB 350 or a Ford 4.6 into the engine compartment.

You probalby have a speed limiter in the ECM. You could reprogram.

You might also want Z-rated tires.

Hey, Top Poster!

1. You are assuming that mcruz is in the US.  (I know you rednecks from
Joplin MO are like that.)

2. 75 isn't the top speed where I live, 65 is.

3. You PAY to post to usenet through a "forum" service?
I'm Right - 19 Mar 2004 15:24 GMT
I will post on top as that is where the cursor is when i hit reply.
It is nunya biddness, where this redneck posts.
I don't pay for a usenet service.
and if 65 is your speed limit, you are slow.
my proxy is through Joplin MO?  I wondered where it was thanks.

It really depends on how the car is wired up. You could disconnect the
vehicle speed sensor, but then you'd have no speedometer. Depending on
how the speedo head gets its signal, it may be possible to disconnect
the VSS wire at the ECM and still have a functional speedometer.

You'll need the purchase the service manual(s) and the electrical
troubleshooting manual to know for sure. www.helminc.com has the
manuals for your car.

I think the ECM reads vehicle speed from the right front wheel speed sensor
in V6 models.  You could unplug it and see what happens.  At the very
least, you'll probably set a check engine lamp.  The speedo works off the
VSS on the differential housing.

If the car is equipped with ABS brakes, wouldn't this trip an ABS code
and shut the ABS system down?

There may be no clean way to do this mod other than a power-programmer
type solution where the governed speed is modified within the ECM
iteslf. Can the Hi-scan pro modify settings like this?

I guess you could always downgrade to a sephia. They top out at 115 in
stock form.
