Sorento Spark Plugs

Greetings!

I am looking for assistance with my wife's '03 Sorento.  I am interested in
changing out the stock factory plugs with platinum tipped plugs but I am
having a little difficulty.  I can see where the plugs should be - between
the twin overhead cams on each bank of cylinders under the black plastic
covers, but have been having no easy time of it getting those covers off.

Does anyone have any tips or techniques that would be helpful that wouldn't
involve taking the intake manifold off?  I grew up working on Chevy motors
that had bottom camshafts and pushrods so the plugs and wires were always
hanging out the side for (relatively) easy access.

Any sage advice would be greatly appreciated, included a recommended brand
of platinum spark plugs.

Thanks - Jonathan

This vehicle already has platinum plugs from the factory.  Don't do
anything.  They're covered up until the first recommended maintenance at
60k (or 4yrs or something).
If the plugs you install have a problem, you'll have to pay for diagnosis
and repair.

Btw, you must remove the plenum to change one of the banks of plugs.
