I just drove home from work and while I was accelerating, at about 30-40MPH,
the tranny "jumped". Like it was about to shift then lurched loudly. I then
noticed wouldn't shift into 4th gear. I put it in Tiptronic mode and
couldn't get it to 4th from 3rd either. I could drop it down to 2nd but not
1st.
So, the last few miles home was 2nd and 3rd gear only.
I'm going to check the tranny fluid shortly but wanted to check here if
there's any known tranny issues or TSBs with this model. Anyone know?

thanks,

Oh yeah, the CEL came on as soon as the "jump" happened. I'm the 2nd owner
and it has 62K miles on it, really hoping its related to a TSB fix that I
need to get done anyway. Else I'm paying for it.

For Google Groups records purposes:

I had to have a "speed sensor" replaced, some kind of solenoid that
prevented the RPM info from getting to the AT chingaderra. Costed me a few
hundred.

ANother thing: I had a hell of a time getting a simple spare key made. All
of the standard HW stores didn't have KIA blanks. One dealer told me
straight out it was $20/key. FInally just had one made at the other KIA
dealer for $10. Dang.

Problem is what they call "turbo speed sensor". Mine did the same thing.
$100 for part / $262 installed at KIA. I would try to do it yourself if
you can. Its just a plug in item. I got ripped...
