2001 Kia Spectra Brake Job

Hi all,
I'm contemplating doing the front brakes on a 2001 Spectra GS Hatchback.
If anyone knows anything about these, I'd deeply appreciate any
comments, and help.

The Car has near 40K on the Odometer, and the brakes are beginning to
pulsate on brake actuation, so I'm thinking of also replacing the front
Rotors with new ones. ( I suppose I may also have the option of having
them cut, but I hear this is not the best thing to do)

My question is this:  Do the bearing packs have to be dis-assembled to
remove the front rotors, or once the calipers are removed, will these
rotors just slip off the car the way Rotors do on most new cars now
days?  I'm getting the impression that the rotor change out isn't an
easy procedure?  TIA Mark

not a big deal, they come off as all disks do today, check what the minimum
cutting spec is.
most important is TORQUE THE WHEEL BOLTS, so you don't warp the rotor

---------------------------------------------------------------Helix,
thank you for your help.  Deeply appreciated!  The car has 37K on the
odometer, and while the rotors dont look bad, they are pulsating
slightly upon actuation, and the pads look like they've just about had
it.

Yes, I undestand about proper torque on the Lug Nuts, and do have a 1/2'
Snap-On Torque Wrench.

I'm debating the options of cutting the Rotors ($10 ea. if I bring them
in to a shop) versus new Rotors at about $45 ea.  Pads are said to be
about $36 for the front.  I might see if I can get them cut, and hope
that they won't go bad again quickly.   Thanks again,  Mark

Mark,

I would always have the rotors turned down unless the shop tells you
that doing so would put them below spec. No need to buy new ones if the
ones you have can be shaved down a bit.
