I purchased a 2006 sedona at the end of Jan. My local dealer installed a
Hitch and then had the wiring harness put on as well, the wiring harness
does not work properly. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do. they
can not find an answer and I really need to pull my trailer with me.

When you say doesn't work properly  what do you mean?  Do some lights
work and others don't?  How did they install?  Did they use one of the
plug in connectors that goes into your taillight harness or just splice
wires?  Only way to really find out is get under there and see what
they did.

AFAIK, the towing package in the '06 came factory.

Right?

Hey, 89GMC, what kind of truck do you have?

I still miss my '95 Jimmy.

I'd love to get my hands on a 6.5 (or even 6.2) Suburban.

K3500 extended cab SLE 454/turbo 400... 4.10s in it..  power
win/locks(had to fix em) and A/C(from my experiences so far prob have
to fix that too)    I actually thought about getting rid of the 2005
sedona my wife drives and trying to pick up an older suburban... only
problem is trying to get any kind of decent price for the van, only 5K
miles on it but with the all new one out now... doubt I'd be able to
make it worth my while.  Would be nice to be able to tow with my wifes
car too...

Nice! What year did you find with a 454? Oh, and turbo? What boost do you
use?

I remember the power window issue as well.

Heh, you "can" tow with the Sedona. I have a hitch on mine and often use
it to tow my father-in-law's tent trailer. It is only around 2500lbs so
there's not an issue.

Truck is an 89, fairly old, but only 124K on it and it had a paint job,
my favorite part is that there really isn't much rust on the
undercarriage, hardly any at all.  I know that this kind of rust is
mostly superficial, but considering how much work I do on my vehicles
it makes a huge difference to not have to take rust chips/flakes in the
eye every time I do something :)  The turbo i was referring to is the
tranny, the th400, commonly called a turbo in the muscle car era.  but
man would i love to supercharge this bad boy :)   The 454 is great,
only gets about 8mpg but I really don't drive it much, only put 1K on
it in the last 3 months, but man those things are pretty bulletproof,
only thing I need to do on that is to replace rear main seal and oil
pan gasket, should be fun since the engine has to come out and up 3
inches... 35 dollars in parts, 3 days of work :)

As far as towing, here's a direct quote from the kia service dept.
"well technically it's rated to tow 3500 but if you tow that much i can
almost guarantee you'll break something"  what a vote of confidence :)
on that note, i cancelled any plans to put a hitch on it....

I put a hitch on my 2003 Sedona and bought the Reese wiring harness.  It has
a 'T' at each end.  You disconnect the wire going to each tail light and
plug the 'T' in between the light and the existing wires.  Then you pull up
the plastic piece that goes across the back floor at the tailgate opening
and put the wire under it.  The plug for the trailer is on a long pigtail
that you store inside the jack storage compartment until you need it.  Then
you just let some of it hang out the back, slam the tailgate down, and go
down the road.  Easy to to and there are very good directions for the right
tail light, which is the only hard part.
