Will a Defender 90 hardtop + rear door fit onto a Series IIA or Series 3 SWB
truck cab? If not, why not? (What's different??)

No.

1. The 90/110 windscreen is higher than the S2/3 windscreen and the
attachment is different. This can be got over by fitting a 90/110
windscreen - easier on the S3 than the 2a (hinges are more similar on the
s3/90).

2. The 90 rear body is about five inches longer than the 88 - unfortunately
there is no simple solution to this problem.

However, the rear doors are interchangeable.

Thing is though with the lax tolerances you never know.

I don't think there are any two that are exactly the same :)
