Series 3 clutch slave question

Replacing the clutch slave cylinder.  Do I put grease in the area where the
shaft is?  Or just fill the dust cover.

If you mean the rod which comes out of the cylinder to actuate the
fork, a small amount of rubber grease (the red stuff) smeared on the
rod will be sufficient.
