I'm surprised it's available to be honest.

> I'm surprised it's available to be honest. Ditto, I got offered £700 for A14 NSE so that plate, especially to be pinned to a large Range Rover, must surely be worth something.
Check there's no catches though, e.g. is it a legit number, or can it only be fitted to vehicles from the 1930's or other similar sh.t.

Ian Rawlings - 22 Mar 2007 18:14 GMT > Presumably that 'translates' to "AlAN SE." Yep, on an old 1989 Esprit SE, presumably owned by a chap called Alan at some point, given the number of previous owners it was probably owned by everyone called alan at some point!
I was hoping to flog it to someone who owns a Bentley Continental SE or something, unfortunately you can't transfer a number from a car unless the car has a valid MOT, they do that to protect against fraud of some kind, but it means my garage queen sits there with a £700 plate on it that I can't sell..

Shame.
I've said this here before, but my favourite is a Renault van used by The Bed Shop in Havefordwest: D1 VAN.

Ho ho - PEN 1S (or it may have been PEN 15) was on a Daimler that used to be parked on the south side of the South Circular just before Kew many years ago. I would often pass it early in the morning parked but I never saw it on the road.

I like the NZ system of number plates - any 6 or fewer alphanumeric characters that nobody else has (and that aren't deemed "inappropriate"). The system slips up quite often tho - RSOLE, 4NIC8, 4NIC8R and PEN15 are/were all in circulation.

A friend of mine was over there a couple of years ago with an air portable on a shortened R/R chassis, I think he had DRTBOX or something like that on it.
