After about 80 Kmiles, I have to replace the original rear shock absorbers
on my Def90 TD5 (year 2000).
Is there a better solution than to use the genuine landrover shock absorbers
?
KONI or another make ?
The only use of the car is on the road, so comfort is the main point.
Thank you for any advice on the subject.

I hear a lot of good things about Old Man Emu, good ride quality and
longevity if a little pricey. Plenty of online stores sell them too.

I asked this last summer. The consensus then was refit Landrover part
numbered ones.
The reason the one you have are no use is they are worn out. New ones really
transform the ride. They did on my Discovery. I'm normally one to replace
with better equipment, but supposed better shocks aren't cheap and if you
get another 80,000 miles from the next set then you've had your monies worth
to be fair. You also will have to wrestle with is it standard or modified
for the insurance if you do fit none OE ones.

One possibility may be if you are running standard 205 tyres.
With these the ride is harsh and choppy, and can be improved beyond belief
if you fit 267/75s.
On the down side you lose steering lock but spacers can over come this.
