MoT'd until november, 1995(N)- GS specs, 5 matching road legal tyres, new
exhaust.

What should I ask for it, if I sell it as spares or repair?
G.B.P. only.

What is actually wrong with it?

I burnt a big hole in my number one piston and melted it a little, thus
doing this have gouged a 2 m.m. deep scratch down the bore,I contemplated
buying a short engine to get it back on the road, but I do not know whether
it has scored the lower bores, as i have this information off a mechanic
friend, I have not seen the actual damage, I haven't got facilities to do my
self and if i add the cost of a re-con + labour charges, I would see a
whacking chunk of cash disapear.
So I believe a sale of the rolling chassis would be more beneficial to me,
as Whoever purchaces this and has the facilities and know how, they will
pick up a great disco.

You are asking a question similar to how big is a cardboard box? without
seeing the beast and checking out for the usual troubles there is no way of
guessing at a price remember you didn't specify if it has an MOT or what
mileage it has done I have seen cars decribed as mint which were accurate in
so far as they resembled a packet of polo's i.e. full of holes. A
replacement engine off fleabay  could cost between 400 and 1000 quid ( I
noticed a couple of short motors which would work out cheaper ) add in
labour at around £150-200 and take that off what you think the car is worth
then put it on ebay with a reserve  how much  well if you want rid try the
low end of that price but start the auction off lowish to generate
interest.Good luck with it you could do well but look how many complete T&T
Disco's  on ebay are fetching less than a grand.

I suppose I did quite well with my P reg 300 Tdi ES then, shot synchro on
1st, 225000 miles,
I month T&T left but good nick and new tyres. Went to a girlie for 2k who
was prepared to
pay some 6-700 insurance- she didn't have any ncb.

Yep sounds like you got a good price for it not related to Mike Brewer are
you? I was looking at ebay tonite these two 270122280482  270122281413
didn't actually get a bid still you never can tell what anything will fetch
on the day  really nice when you get a few bidders fighting it out to the
end- so its always worth trying, That is some insurance bill to go tho' who
says middle age is bad

She must have been high as a kite on some dubious chemical substance.
Couldn't have been worth more than the price of the tyres, road tax and
£500. Say £800 all in.
