I hit the BIN button, after very careful looking, I'm not sure all is
kosher here.

Have a look & see if you can spot what I mean, there are a few pointers.

Its a grand cheaper than the other similar ones listed above?
Been a member for 5 years, and only bought sold 10 things - I know there
is nothing wrong with that, but it makes me wonder...

See if you can get the plate - there a few sites that should verify that
the plate is genuine

Hope it turns out ok mate!

It wasn't so much the seller as the car.

It's far too clean for a 1995 RR, it's has late headlights, indicators &
whatnot. It has the later style wheels.

I'm not sure they did the silver colour on the 1995 year.

In a nutshell, it looks far too new for the year/car.

Hmmmm .... the 2000MY light upgrade has been about a long time. Wheels ...
well people do upgrade them to make the car look newer. Can't confirm about
the colour tho ....

But to me it looks like someone has tried to keep their vehicle looking
newer than it is (not a crime)

I was thinking more along the lines of the headlights, they are very
expensive.

The kits come up on eBay quite a lot ISTR, and also I think Simmonites do
one (and they'll be the most expensive...). Since the 2002/2003 headlight
conversion came along for the P38a I think the price has dropped right
off...

headlights - at a guess, someone wanted it to look like a 2000-year in
2000... at which time it was still quite an expensive, fairly new motor.
Ditto wheels, when did the 18" ones come out?

although we look now at the lights being expensive, that's in the
perspective of a 4K car.  in 2000, it'd have been, in comparative terms,
probably more like a 20K car now, and the headlights might well have been
cheaper.

mileage and history, if genuine, points to light use - 76K miles in 12 years
is feck-all, so it should look clean and nice...

private or dealer?  the pics could be either.

I'm obviously not up on my RR knowledge. The only bad thing i can see is
that it is in tunstall! ;) (Lee will back me up on this one)

Is it a shithole?
Tom Woods - 13 Nov 2007 14:20 GMT

its not the nicest place ever. I lived on the outskirts of it for a few
years and never once was brave enough to walk into the centre of tunstall!

It does have a lot of industrial unit type bits though and that looks
like it might be in one of them (from the trucks and surroundings). Which
makes it perhaps less dodgy?

Bad form, Just psoke to the chap, all sounds very geniune.

The bloke he bought it off had the lights done all round at mega cost,
uses no water & works all round sound.

f.ck me, I might have got a bargain here.

He lives in Stoke, no matter.

You bought that dodgy 101 off a guy from stoke too so watch out ;)

Fortunately I live outside the city and Nige get a good one off me so he's
not too disaffected by people from the area ;-) ... though I never knew he'd
had another.....

Are you near enough to have a quick look matey?

I could but wouldn't have a clue as to what should be where on a p38 so I'd
probably be as much use as a chin rubbing air sucking tyre kicker.

I could cast a eye over it's general condition for startling oddness mind,
I'm good at buying odd Landies ;-)

Turn up in yer riot van, check his reaction - easy!

I can give you some pointers, I don't need a full on bag o' mashings survey,
just a generaql look over at a few bits.

Give me a call if you don't mind.

I'm picking it up Saturday, hopefully.

LMAO!

I normally wait until after I get the car to get a picture of it with the
AA. Looks like the seller has done it for you on this occasion.

That building  (blue) in the background looks like a body shop on the High
Street Tunstall to Sandyford. Make sure it's not a chopper Nige when you
pick it up. Not that I have enxperience good or bad from Tunstall Body
shops. As Citys in de[rived areas go Tunstall is just another outlying town
past it's best.

Doesn't look too sus to me ... but I'd check very carefully the V5C and
other docs with it before handing cash over.  I'd also ask what the
full reg is so you can check that first ... indeed a HPi first for
20/30quid might well be worth it anyway.

Colour looks a bit wrong and he's updated lights and wheels, but hey,
look at yours ... ;)

Nice find if you've got it at that though and it _is_ kosher ... ;)

good luck with it matey aside from the cosmetics ( tidy as Austin would say)
the only thing that struck me was how early it was for a 4.6 I understand
the US had to wait 6 months after the launch before they got them Looks good
in the ebay tho'  I'm still waiting to hear from that software house if they
have the next phase ready.
