Hi

The rear door in my 98. 300TDi has ceased to open because the spring
that holds the internal button up has broken.  If I wedge it in the up
position it works without a problem but unfortunatley the central
locking dislodges the wedge and I'm back to the unopening door then.

I believe it is a normal occurance and that there is a replacement
part available.  Anyone know where I can get it and what it is called
and if it works.  Would I be better off just relacing the lock.

If it's got the same locking mechanism as the Disco 1 then it's also the
same as the RRC and as it's marked GM on those so I reckon you could
probably find one on an old Vauxhall Astra or other in a local scrapyard.

Did mine a couple of years ago, bit fiddly make sure you get the correct
spring type for the door.
I have some pictures if you want me to send them email me.
