So add some lubricity additive then. We used to add a product called HYTEC
to crappy quality aviation fuel (basically Kero) when away from base to
ensure correct lubrication of some of the engine driven pump componentry. It
must work, as the components had a 50 hour running life without lubricity
additive and no restriction at all if it was added..... the mix ratio was
something like a 500ml tin to 6000gallons of fuel....!

Any idea where one might get some of this stuff from? I have a 30kVA
generator which I'd like to run on heating oil if I can get away with
it. I'm currently using a 50% mixture of red diesel and 28 sec. kerosine
but I have to buy the red off my next door neighbour farmer and it would
be much more convenient to used pure kero and an additive.
Mind you, the generator is ex-military and has a six cylinder non turbo
Ford engine, which was probably designed for a tractor originally, so I
suspect it's not as fussy about what it runs on as some more recent and
higher spec. engines will be. I'd still rather not knacker it if I can
help it though!
