Did you see that on the news crash testing the far eastern pickups. Bloke
said they might recall them all (Nissan variety).  Did'nt mention owt about
series landies, so they must be safe.  :-)

Don't reckon i know any series landys that would survive a 40 mph headon
with a concrete wall.......the irony of it is that most would end up
recycled as crash barriers....on the other hand, (or leg) if you are a short
arse, then the front wheel being where it was wouldnt be a prob, likewise
with chibbing the dashboard before the airbag goes off over the back of your
head.....

Could you get 'em up to 40mph?

Wisdom and experience come with age, they say, but I wish I could
remember the darn question

Ho yuss, but you need a fair bit of time to wind 'em up.

I was joking of course!
I don't reckon I'd survive hitting the inside of a series at 40 mph. :-)

It looked to me like the airbag would have been better mounted a bit lower
down, that's all.

I had read that Range Rovers at least, were the only car thought to be
safer in a crash than a Volvo. If they rejected those they might be
looking hard for something to drive.

Well, it's just as well they're not much good in crashes, because
according to the BBC, they're all driven by men with mid-life crises
and small willies!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7265235.stm

They are of course confusing the small UK pickups with the whopping
great big yank monsters, just like they do with the 4x4s, and yes they
do compare them with 4x4s and moan about the fuel consumption.  Then
there's the comments, the usual lentil-munchers going on about penises.
