Strange, just happened. The drivers side door (RH) door lock won't pop
up when I use the remote but does go down with the remote. Is this fixable
or do I need a new actuator?

Sounds like actuator.
If it was mine I'd strip it and see if it's fixable - we sell quite a

Wisdom and experience come with age, they say, but I wish I could

Disco2 latches are a completely enclosed jobby, unlike the Disco1 units
(which have the over-centre spring that breaks).
Anybody bothered to strip a D2 latch?
