Hi all, I joined this newsgroup about 9 years ago if I remember rightly. I
have had many a laugh at the entries, very much advice and help. I have now
sadly to get rid of the Defender ( thanks to Ken and his LEZ for London ),
and family has grown up. Daughter from 11 year old pupil to Graduate Nurse
and the 5 boys getting bigger as well/ Police / Mechanical Engineer etc.
I have on order a mazda 3 MPS ( to compete with son's supercharged Fiesta ST
!!! )

Like to thank Nige for his forthright views and common sense and all the
others that I have known and contacted over the years, Incidnetallt if
anybody is colse to Sidcup in Kent and wants   4 Jerry cans for diesel ( no
diesel sorry folks )/ Dixon Bate drop bar ( almost new )/ couple sdiesteps.
Be my guest, but you pick em up !!
I am going to miss the Defender and the real camraderie here. ( I have a
feeling I may just get a new one when the mid life crisis is over  :-)))
).

THANKS TO ON AND ALL AND THE BEST BUNCH GOING

Sorry to hear that the policy of envy has forced the sale of your defender
I hope he chokes on a Prius which is far less enviromentally friendly than
the landrover which will outlive it by a factor of 3 or more.

This is not goodbye...

You will be back.

You will one day get the urge, and get another.

Deep down you know it already!

Seconded; and even if you no longer have the Defender there's no reason not
to contribute.

Best of luck.  :-)

Land Rovers are much more than just transport. They're a state of mind,
and more addictive than Crystal Meth (probably). I've said goodbye to
them more times than I care to remember, but within months there is this
strange urge to go and buy another one, an urge that seems to empty the
bank account and fill the driveway with 2 tons of steel, rust and aluminium.

You'll be back.

Don't be a pillock. I am semi-retired from Land Rovership at the moment
(daily driver a Ducati, caravan tug a F*rd, and a S2a on the drive STILL
waiting to be fixed), but I haven't left this group.  There is less of
direct interest these days, but the characters are the same, the
entertainment is good and the atmosphere is still cool and hassle-free.  AFL
is still one of my "download all messages" groups, and will be for a long
time I suspect.

Take out the obvious to email me.

A life?  Cool - where can I download one of those?

I'd be interested in the drop bar if it's still going but I'm not sure
when I'll next be in the area.

I'll store the other stuff along with the series gearbox (Tom's
still??) and 110 power steering bits if anyone wants me to.

Luckily my 110 is lpg or I'd not venture into London with it either.
