SIGH....here we go.....bleeding Land Rovers

Got in car tonight and went to move it 500 yards, how odd i thought i
can
hear a hissing type noise.  Turned radio off, still there....hmmmm
whats
this then.  Then realised the climate control was on.  Checked the
compressor and yes its spinning.  Woo Hoo thinks me, cold air here we
come....but no.

The hissing noise is more like the sound you get when you turn on a
regulator on a gas bottle.  The hiss is coming from behind the HVAC
control
unit in the dash. Its almost as though the gas cant get through a
valve or
something.  Even if you put it on 'LO' still get warm air.  Can you
get an
airlock in an aircon set up?.

I intend to get the thing regassed anyway at some point but, is there
a
relay that allows cold air from the clever bits in the front to get to
the
inside??.

The hissing is usually a sign of a very low charge of gas but not quite low
enough to trigger the LP cut off switch.
