Had a vibration that's been getting worse over the last few weeks, and
finally managed to get underneath to have a look see.
The props themselves are ok, but where the front prop attaches to the
front diff, mucho movement.
Assuming that its a bearing of some description thats failed - is it
likely to have mullered the front axle?

The bearing seaton the 101 sailsbury failed , only pitted a small amount and
no noticeable play tbh but the noise was really bad from it... even in a 101
Ambi.
I replaced the bearing and all was well.
With yours having so much play then I'd make sure the oil is flushed.. i.e.
refill new, run around and frop and replace. You may get away with it as the
drain plug has a magnet on if I recall correctly so most filings will be
caught.

HM is TimKen part number, 53 is landrover.
I think.
Unfortunately, to replace it properly (ie bearing and race) you need to take the front out, and then
to bits :)
