Hi

I have just spent the best part of 2 weeks (on and off) replacing the lower
RH swivel bearing on my SIII because the nasty man at the MOT garage told me
it had worn!  There was movement at 12 and 6 o clock, but none at 3 and 9.
So after swearing lots and getting grief off the missus for not decorating
the nursery this weekend (which is needed in about 3 months) its done, and
everything is put back together.  i have no movement and 12 and 6 o clock,
but now I have some at 3 and 9 o clock.

What could be the cause, and will it pass the MOT?

It could be a track rod end, but under the circumstances I'd
suspect a slightly loose wheel bearing. Nip it up a bit, making
sure not over tighten it.

Passing the MOT is down to the particular tester's opinion
on the matter, but in theory there should be no play.
