Does anyone have any ideas why the top set of rear tail lights do not work? Bottom set and all brake lights work fine. Does anyone have any ideas why the top set of rear tail lights do not work? It all depens on when the vehicle was built - the upper lights not working is intentional. For a time they were built with them just disconnected, in which case the harness will be there, otherwise the harness will not have the leads in it, so you'd have to make your own. You'll have to have a look and see what wiring is or isn't present.
