BTW, I now make it a practice to always get the Lexus dealer to throw in
2 or 3 extra "master" keys when I buy a new car. They are more than
willing to do this at no charge then. Especially when I point out that
the failure of their 'high tech' keys is a well known problem.

I made an issue of it when my wife's broke -- they reluctantly replaced it
at no charge as a courtesy. But, the keys are not under warranty.
