My wife has a '02 ES300 and we've been down the ECM flash road already.
It helped quite a bit but before the flash we definitely had some "big
moments" in the car. With that said, she's wanting to get something
else and I'll just make the 300 my daily driver since my old beater
Honda is no longer aging gracefully.
She's wanting to stay with the Lexus name due to all the positives
(resale value, consumer reports ratings, etc.) but she hasn't forgotten
about the tranny issues in her 300. So, are there any models that
haven't had similar problems reported?
She likes the hybrid SUV but is willing to look at others.

I haven't noticed so-called tranny issues with my 06 ES.

Give it time...once it "learns" your driving history, it will do its
thing...

The new ES350 has a different transmission altogether, and likely won't
have that bug. It is however a new model year and is likely to have
some other bugs, although the engine going into it is NOT a new engine
(used currently in the Avalon/Camry).
The new GS and IS series are bullet proof according to reports thus far
from owners, granted they are not even one year on the market.
