I have a '06 ES330. Today I noticed that when I pressed the "MODE" button to
change the air flow mode, some kind of motor sound was audible. I don't know
if the air flow mode change always made that sound or if it recently became
loud enough for me to notice. It sounds similar to the sound you hear when
you change CDs.

So, I wonder if other Lexus cars make a similar sound...

It is difficult to tell if a sound is normal or not without actually hearing
the sound, but it is normal to hear some sounds when the AC system changes
modes.
