Not only does it make an interesting read, but I'd be interested to hear your comments reference the prices we have to pay for cars in the UK, compared to where you live. (The prices are at the bottom of the article). For any of you not living in England, I point out that 'Green' cars here are very important (not just from an environmental perspective) but also due to the fact if you have a car supplied here by your employer, (and 75-85% of management here do) depending upon the make and its emissions, the tax authorities take the list price of the car, divide this by 3 (i.e.: say £60,000 / 3 = £20,000) and class the £20,000 figure as earned income and charge you 40% income tax on that! It stand to reason that the number one car manufacturer in the world is Toyota. And the Lexus brand and particularly LS model are the cause for that. In the US Lexus last a few days on the lot, versus the American counterparts that RUST on the lots..... The prices paid in the UK vs the US is more but that commensurates with the current value of the pound, which like the dollar will go down eventually !
