The exhaust deflectors (shiny metal extensions on the end of the tail
pipe) are showing rust and corrosion on the inside. This is visible
from the outside and detracts from the car's appearance (2007 ES-350).
Any reason why these should look so bad after 10,000 miles? Are there
alternative replacements? Thanks.

I think the parts you are referring to are usually called tailpipe exhaust
tips.  I would bring the car to the dealership to have them replaced if they
are defective.  Keep in mind that a rusty appearance and soot are normal on
the inside of the tail pipe.
