Anybody had any experience with replacing a Miata seat? Specifically,
the driver's seat is just plain worn out (i.e., the foam's to a
frazzle, and the brackets are poking) and my bony rear is beginning to
complain.
Any idea of replacement costs? Any aftermarket stuff out there worth
considering?

Recently put a pair from a 1999, purchased off Ebay, in my 1990. Not a
hard job and inexpensive compared to aftermarket. Thing to remember is
the Miata requires a narrow seat.
Go to the attached link for some suitable replacements.
