>  Red with leather interior. No MazdaSpeed dealers in Maine,so I had to go to New Hampshire to buy it,188 miles from home. I kept it under 90 on the interstate ride home. It's a lot quicker, don't have to downshift as much to get power, tighter steering, suspension a little firmer than my base '99,have to get used to the 6 speed, missed gears a couple of times, shifts as easily as the'99.Color is different than the classic red miata, its more like candy apple red. My wife loves it. Can hear the Bose at speed. Boot cover doesn't flap off like the '99,guess I'll use it now.As I write this we are having a thunder storm. Guess the MazdaSpeed is going to be a garage ornament for a while. Oh well, its forcing me to read the awners manual.

I got the velocity red, which looks more like candy apple red(mica) than
classic red,and the leather interior. No dealers in Maine carry the
MazdaSpeed,so I had to drive almost 4 hours to New Hampshire to buy it.
It was fun driving home tho.I did manage to keep it under 90 as I was
breaking it in. the 6 speed feels smoother than the '99s 5 speed. I
missed a shift a couple of times as I was playing boy racer! I'll get
used to it as soon as it stops raining. Its been raining ever since I
got home,so the car has become a garage ornament.
It gets quicker to the red line than the '99,and very smooth! It puts a
smile on my face when I race through the gears.
The boot cover fits a lot better, and doesn't flap around like the '99.
As a matter of fact I haven't had it off yet; and haven't seen the cloth
top. I want to take it off slowly, and remember how it's attached,so I
put it on right.
The Bose is ok,6 disc in dash changer is nice. It needs a subwoofer. I
thought it would ride harsher than the base"99,but it doesn't! I
averaged 26 mpg on the 3-4 hour race home.
Best of all,my wife loved the car the minute she set eyes on it!!
BTW,I replied once before but it must have gotten lost in space.
