Greetings.
Appoligies to non-St Louisans for wasting your time.. just have a
question for the locals..
I've heard thru the grapevine that there are several Miata owners in
the St Louis area that have the FM Dual Exhaust. Unfortunately I've
been too cheap to join the local club, so this seems to be the best
forum for getting a question out. My 150,000 mi / 10 yr old stock
muffler finally lost its integrity recently so I'm in the market for
an upgrade. I was wonderring if anyone wouldn't mind "showing off"
their muffler. I live in the Manchester area, but I'd be happy to
drive across town to 'see before I buy'. I'm leaning toward the FM
right now, but haven't ruled out Borla or Racing Beat yet.

No point in bothering the other NG'ers.. so feel free to email me if
you would like to help me out or know someone who might live close by
who I could contact.

You might look at the dual outlet muffler that Brainstorm sells. I've had
one for about 9 months and am pleased with it. It is black powder coated
and thus doesn't stand out under the car. The tone is a little deeper and
more mellow than others I've heard. This is actually my second BSP dual -
had one on my '98, too. This one is a little louder. While I don't mind
it, my neighbor says he can tell when I'm coming home. The one on the '98
wasn't as loud.

Randy,
It looks like the Brainstorm product is cheaper than the FM.. but the
site doesn't have very good pics or description of the product. Is
the BSP a catback or just the muffler? I have an M1 ('94), I forget
if the 98 model year was an M1 or M2 style (they skipped 98 here in
the states).. and I assume your current Miata is newer and therefore
an M2?
