I would think that you could have very good success with a bicycle intertube
repair kit for a tear that small.

That is kind of what I was thinking - that or a repair patch for tent.
I was just hoping to tap into the voice of experience before I run the
risk of botching up the job.

I've used an "iron on " patch on the back of convertible tops before with
pretty good results...

At most hardware stores in the electrical section they have "Liquid Tape"
Works fine on small tares,tears,tore.Whatever
